Peter Ambler
(Honorary Board Member)
Peter Ambler has been a leading “brand” in
executive search for more than 30 years.
His reputation for thoroughness, persistence and professionalism
is well documented by a long-standing prestigious client base.
As President of Ambler Associates, Inc., Peter leads the
firm’s Industrial and Financial Services practice.
Peter established a search firm in the DFW metroplex in 1970.
In 1986, Boyden International acquired
his firm and Peter ran the Dallas office for Boyden through 1989,
when he re-established his own executive search company in Dallas.
Before establishing the retained executive search
practice, Peter served as human resources manager at Great Southwest
Corporation, a Penn Central company.
Previously, he was with General Foods Corporation in California and Texas, and with HFC in Canada and California.
Peter is English by birth and graduated from Merchant Navy
College London where he was one of the college’s two Cadet
Captains. He graduated from
Outward Bound’s 30-day sea-course.
Passing the Board of Trade exams for officer qualifications on the
first sitting, he served as a Navigation Officer seeing global service on
cargo/passenger liners by the time he was 20. Peter earned an MBA with distinction
from Southern Methodist University.
Peter is an experienced sailboat competitor having skippered in
over 1600 sailboat races. He is
also an avid golfer. He is a lay
leader at Christ the Redeemer Garland TX.
